Michael Richards

Michael S. Richards has spent the majority of his career specializing in the real estate, hospitality, and food and beverage industries including over 20 years in investment banking covering multiple product and industry sectors. He has focused much of his time on complex capital structure solutions related to financial restructurings, M&A, capital raising and project finance, and with particular expertise in the financial restructuring of distressed companies. Mr. Richards has executed over $3 billion in investment banking transactions at several prominent middle market firms, including Oppenheimer & Co., The Seaport Group, Cappello Global LLC, and JD Merit & Company and worked over a dozen restructurings during the last recession from 2008 through 2014, representing both companies and creditors alike. Prior to his focus on the middle market sector, Mr. Richards worked in New York raising substantial capital for Fortune 500 companies in the debt capital markets groups at Deutsche Bank, Bear Stearns, and JP Morgan Chase. Mr. Richards holds a Bachelor of Arts from Princeton University and a Master of Business Administration from the USC Marshall School of Business. He also holds FINRA Series 7 and Series 63 licenses.
